Expat Family Meet-Up in Grecia - Our Life in Costa Rica Yr#2

I have been so busy. Lots going on over the last couple of weeks.
So I will start from the beginning.
If you follow me, you know that one of my main goals is to bring people (especially people of color) to Costa Rica. I truly believe that this country is affordable and offers a completely different perspective than the one we have become accustomed to in the US.

So to that end, I planned a meet-up at our home in Grecia last Sat for 2 NEW families.

The Wilson clan is a family of 4. Mom Shanelle, dad Steve and their 2 children ages 11 and 5. They hail from Louisiana. They are living on El Cajon (the ridge opposite ours)
They went with us on our recent trip to Jaco.

We asked our fabulous housekeeper and cook extraordinaire, Erla, to cook  up some empanadas, gallo pinto and pico de gallo. Vernita made some yummy guacamole and we had a great afternoon, eating, sharing and getting acquainted.

Pictured are Steve Wilson and Vernita Gundy.
Vernita is from PA (has been in Costa Rica for 5 yrs) she is living in Manuel Antonio  - near Jaco (we met Vernita on the Panama Jammin tour)
She came up to Grecia on the bus to see us for the weekend.
It was her 1st visit to the Central Valley. For more about Vernita -- See her video here
The other family of 5, hails from Durham NC. They are currently living in Alajuela, which is about 45 mins from Grecia by bus.

Both families just happened to arrive in Costa Rica on the same day in August. How cool is that!
Both families are nearing their "90 day expiration" in Costa Rica and so must head for the border, which was the BIG topic of the day.

Now...I'll let these guys introduce themselves to you!
Check them out below

They have a youtube channel and you can follow their journey!!
